Princess for a day!

Avery is in the girly princess stage. Every day is about pink, purple and being beautiful! When we heard about a princess event coming near, we couldn't pass it up! Our boys went exploring while we had girl time all afternoon.
Avery was able to decorate a cupcake, beautifully. She also had her hair & makeup done by a true princess. Along with tea time, wand decorating and of course riding in a carriage. It made for great memories!
Once we left the event, we opted that the queen and princess needed ice cream as well. Couldn't of made a better choice. ;)

Camping, Birthdays and Haircuts!

We've been having a fun summer! We started off with camping up American Fork canyon. I will admit that it was fun. I had a hard time with some things, but overall the experience was good for our family! We only stayed one night. Mostly to test the waters for me. lol The kids can't wait to go again and stay for longer! :) We found a great little area with big rocks and lots of dirt! All the kids had their own sleeping bag, but somehow Nolan ended up inside mine. It was super crowded as you can imagine. lol He slept really great. As for me...not so much. But camping isn't about sleeping is it?! ;) We had s'mores, hot dogs, and lots of goodies. Colby even made a few friends. Too bad they were visiting from out of state, so no play dates in the near future.

Catching up...

How is it already June 10?! Time is sure flying by this year! I had every intention of blogging every month this year, but once again it slipped through my fingers. A lot has happened since January! Colby is now 6!! He's so big and so so smart! He's done with Kindergarten and can not wait for 1st grade to begin. It's a daily question asking if it's time for 1st grade yet! We also just switched Colby to a full time booster. It is such a big change for him and me. OK mostly me! I would love to keep him harnessed forever if I could. LOL It's more real that he's growing up!
Avery's hair is getting super duper long!! One more month til we cut it. I wish I could say the same for mine. I honestly didn't think about trimming it to help it grow. LOL So it's almost stopped growing. At this rate I'm getting a pixie cut as a new look! ;) I'm going to trim it soon and hope for the best! (Here's an idea of how long Avery's hair has gotten! Blowing bubbles is a favorite pastime here!)
Nolan...Nolan...man what a kid!! He's into everything at the moment! He's such a fun, wild, outgoing boy! Boring?! Never! LOL Seriously our days could not get any less boring around here. ;) He also just walked right into "The Terrible Twos!" It's quite exhausting some days. He likes to scream. A lot! He likes to take things that aren't his or anything that Colby and Avery have at the moment. He thinks sharing includes taking what he wants when he wants it. :)
Just the other day we explored Vernon Reservoir. It's about an hour from our house. It was a nice hot day. Great for exploring! We walked along the reservoir and collected cool things for our jar. A bird's feather, two crab claws and a fishing bobbin were included in our treasure. :) Avery spied our first lizard and from there Jesse's mission was to catch one. Mission fail! ;) Little things were too fast for him.
Jesse had to get a pic of me climbing over the fence. Ya it's quite a sight! ;)
Nolan gave it a try too! :)

New Beginnings

Hey everyone! I did not realize it's been nearly a yr since I attempted to start blogging. One of my goals for this year is to blog more. I couldn't be more excited to do my first post of the yr. :) We start this year off with everyone doing well. Jesse is still working full-time at Big 5. I've had a few health problems this past year, but I've tried to not let it hold me down. Colby started Kindergarten in August. He loves it! He has made a lot of new friends and is learning new stuff everyday. Avery is 4 1/2. She is quite the drama queen. LOL She is so sweet one minute then a crazy chic the next. But we still love her the same! Her imagination is the best thing about her. Now onto our little Nolan. He has grown quite a bit in the last year. He is now 20 months. So crazy to think of where the time has gone. He loves to run, jump, skip and climb. He's very boy all the way through. He also gets a kick out of swiping toys from Colby and Avery then running. He's had more bruises this past year then Colby and Ave have ever had combined. LOL I'll just say he's VERY active!

Another one of my goals this year is to grow out my hair and donate it to Locks Of Love. I just planned on Avery doing the growing part cause I've never liked my hair long. It's super thick and very hard to take care of when it's long. But then when I was talking to Avery about the idea, she brought up that if we both did it then there would be more hair for other baby girls that didn't have it. :) As sweet as that is coming from her, this will truly be a challenge for me. Avery is quite a bit ahead of me. Her hair is nearly to the middle of her back and mine well... it's barely touching my shoulders. LOL
I took these pictures earlier today. More as a before shot and hopefully we'll see quite a change in my hair by July. I decided that it would be fun to take Avery to a salon on her 5Th birthday and celebrate by cutting and donating our hair. :)

He's growing so fast...

Today Nolan is 9 months. I am so amazed at how much he's grown since he has joined our family. He is such an awesome baby. He loves to laugh and smile!! Everything he does is a joke. I have a feeling that he'll be dubbed Class Clown. ;) His new thing is to pull faces. It's the cutest thing ever! Jesse & I both crack up every time. I have yet to catch it on my camera, but hopefully soon. He is also learning to clap. This is such a fun stage for Nolan. And myself, I think. I love watching him explore. He learns something new everyday. :)

In the beginning....

Well here I am making a blog. I've wanted to do this for awhile now, but it's been put at the bottom of my list, until now. :) I won't write too much tonight, as it's late for me (ya I know, it's only 9:24, but I'm exhausted.)

I'm not really sure how this works. I guess I just write what's on mind. Let's see...most of you that read this are my friends on Facebook, so you know the ins and outs of my day to day. This has been an eventful yr for our family. In early April, we moved from our home in Springville to an apartment just a few blocks away.

With in 2 wks of living in our new space, we welcomed Nolan Jesse into our family on May 2.
He has been such a blessing to our family. He brings happiness and laughter to our everyday! :)

On June 21, we welcomed a new cousin as well, Katelyn Summer (she was born on the 1st day of Summer.) She is the 2nd grand-daughter of 9 grand-kids.

On Oct 8, Jesse & I moved our family to Tooele. Jesse finally became a store manager for his employer, Big 5 Sporting Goods. I am so proud of him! I think we've finally adjusted and become familiar with our new little town.

On Oct 18, we welcomed another cousin, Lucas Craig. He is grandchild #10. I guessed his birthday! Yay me!

Nov. 10, Jesse turned the BIG 30!! The kids and I made him cupcakes! Yum! :)
That's pretty much covers our 2010 yr in a nutshell. Thank you for reading! I promise there is more to come. :)
